Vernal Equinox

The 2025 spring equinox, which takes place on March 20 at 5:01 a.m. EDT, marks the moment when the sun sits directly over the Earth's equator as it heads northward. The spring equinox is a time of rebirth and renewal in many mythologies, including Celtic, Greek, and Norse. In Celtic mythology, the spring equinox is a time of balance between light and darkness, and a time for magic and nature. Greek mythology celebrates the goddess Persephone return from the underworld in the spring, bringing warmth and flowers. Norse mythology celebrates the resurrection of the god Baldr symbolizing the victory of light over darkness.
